History

The Bent Horn Games – formerly known as the Tournament Capital Games (and the Legacy Performance Games before that) were created from legacy funds generated by the hosting of the Kamloops 2011 Western Canada Summer Games in August, 2011.

The Legacy Performance Games and Tournament Capital games were not intended to replace existing multi-sport games opportunities,  but instead to offer a Games experience to athletes that may miss out on participating in “elite” games such as the Western Canada or Canada Summer Games. Some athletes are unable to participate in these games because their sport is not included, and some are not able to participate because of the year they were born. (ie. If Canada Summer Games focus on U15 boys for baseball in 2013 and again in 2017, those born in 2000/2001 and 2004/2005 are not eligible).

Since the creation of both the Legacy Performance Games, and the Tournament Capital Games, the desire from athletes of all ages (15-99) for a multi-sport, FUN tournament for some less mainstream sports has been heard loud and clear; which leads us to the birth of the inaugural Bent Horn Games in April of 2021.
